Rolex Submariner #5517/ British Navy Military watch

The Rolex Submariner #5517 - Made for the Royal Navy in the 1970's, only 1,200. were made - only several hundred have survived.
Details:

The Dial, is similar to a #5513 - only a large T in a circle, above the depth markings at the 6 position, to indicate the presence of Tritium painted on the index markers.

The Hands: are unique to this model - referred to as " Sword Hands". They are similar to the Omega 300 Sea Master hands but not the same - Rolex military hands are un-available.

The Bezel and Insert: The bezel is a standard production for the Rolex but the Insert was specially manufactured for the Military Rolex, with minute markings around the whole insert and is unique to this watch. This item is also un-available.

The Case: is a standard # 5513 but there are no spring bars to hold a strap, as the bars are welded to the case to use a nylon Nato strap, so as not to fail with active movement.

The Case Back: The case back always has a MOD part#, which starts with #0552 or with W10, a triangle with a top hat and below an issue  # and a year.

All these unique features make this a very rare watch tool, that was made for a very short time and for a special purpose. Come in or call to see other Military time pieces.
